ABOUT CCC Family Worship Center

Christ Community Church was established in 1996 by Rev. Richard Starling and his wife, Cheryl. The church was created out of Pastor Richard’s passion to share the love of God with others in such a tangible way that their lives and families become a clear reflection of that love.

The mission of CCC is based on John 3:16, which states: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This foundational Scripture is communicated to CCC members and visitors in every aspect of our church. During worship services, our music and songs are aimed at celebrating the love of God made manifest through the sacrifice of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who made it possible for mankind to have a relationship with God based on forgiveness and unconditional love.

At CCC, the Bible and its life-transforming principles are taught in a simple, yet empowering way by church leaders who support members and friends in their pursuits of achieving their God-given purpose.

Mission

The mission of CCC, to express God’s love to others, is best expressed by the acronym that spells out the word love:

L - Leadership – Our leaders strive to always reflect God’s love to others.
O - Opportunity – We empower others to serve God through their gifts and talents.
V - Victory – We assist others in gaining victory over sin.
E - Excellence – We demonstrate the achievable excellence of living for God.

To extend God’s love to our local community, Pastor Starling holds a seat on the township planning board and on its community development and recreation advisory boards. He also serves as Vice Chairperson of the township’s Human Relations Commission and is Police Chaplain of the Union Police Department.

Vision

The CCC vision is based on Jesus Christ’s directive, known as the Great Commission as expressed in Matthew 28:19-20, which reads: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:   Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, so, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

This instruction drives our goal to see the lives of others transformed by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, by learning and adopting the word of God, and by being led by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

These goals are achieved in three ways, namely:

  1. Through God-inspired prayer and praying

  2. Through God-inspired worship and praise

  3. Through God-inspired preaching and teaching.

At CCC, we believe that if we create excellence, people will respond by rising to that standard. That’s precisely why we are dedicated to building healthy individuals and families who regularly encounter God during our worship services, through our dynamic messages and prayer events, and at our in-depth Bible studies. We also offer a fun and educational Children’s Ministry aimed at preparing the next generation to live productive, Christ-centered lives. And our members and friends are welcome to participate in our Men’s Fellowship, Women’s Fellowship and Youth Ministry.

What's Ahead?

Our theme is: “Serving God with Intentionality”

This theme is based on John 10:10, which reads: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” We want our ministry and service to others to produce the abundance in life Christ promised all who believe in Him. Our immediate plans are to grow so strong in the area of ministry excellence that we increasingly attract those who are inspired by this distinction. We also intend to develop a ministry support team that is committed to lovingly expressing excellence in the way they care for others.

A key long-term goal for CCC is to purchase a building of our own—specifically a facility large enough to accommodate as many people as God entrusts to our hearts.
